Don’t test mac yet. I have not tried to fix it. I will come back to that. New version of ios/android app is coming today/tomorrow with one more fix and I put really deep logging so I should be able to see exactly what the problem is. You can just install it and do quick 40 second test. Try to connect and it should be logged. I will try to update here when new version is available. This should be fixed this week. Sorry for your pain.
No worries. Thanks for the update. I’ll check for updates again tomorrow and I’ll let you know what I get back.
I just created a new version that might fix it but it also will monitor your ble connections and send them to me for the start of the connection /workout process. I can add people to the debug list and get detailed data. So if it does not work, hopefully I can see why. If you can update the app and try again. Then kill the app and retry one more time… just spend like 5 minutes if it is not working. Thanks
Hi Alex, I’m having similar issues with a V2 Kickr. I typically use it with the iOS app on an iphone 15 Pro with no problems. Last week I played around with the Mac app and decided that wasn’t for me. Now I can’t get the iOS app to connect to the Kickr. I’ve tried everything you suggest in this thread and others: uninstalled and reinstalled all the apps, unplugged and replugged the kickr. There are no other bike apps running on the phone or the Mac. I’m out of ideas!
Still working on this, spent 1/2 of today going deep, I have logs from one user so I am getting closer to finding the source of the problem. I know exactly where it is not. I am going on small vacation so won’t be able to look at it. If you guys are paid I have no problem adding time to your accounts for the down time, sorry about this.
Thanks Alex! I’ll be enjoying some outdoor riding over the weekend, so I’m all good, I appreciate your attention to this. Do you need anymore information from me?
I am also experiencing similar issues on my KICKR V1, using both iPad and iPhone, after the April 28 and exercising on May 10 (app version 9.9.7). Resistance works correctly via the Wahoo app.
Please advise on any further troubleshooting steps or recommended actions.
Addition information:
App is not able to connect my device via «Add devices» just spinning «connecting».
Moving your comment here (see above). Yes there is a problem with V1 Wahoos right now. We are actively working on this. It should be resolved by the end of the week. Sorry about this.
I have been using a Kickr Core V1 also and have not been having any issues. I’ve been using Free Ride and HR+. Maybe you can compare my logs and see if there is anything going on. As far as I can tell I have not had any issues. I’ve only done a few short rides over the last couple weeks, so maybe not far enough back? IOS 9.9.1
Core is different bluetooth protocol then Kicrk V1. I would guess it was about 5 years earlier. It some custom protocol that only it and cyclops uses but cyclops is even different than V1 even though the protocol is similar.
It sounds like a bug fixed is in process. Just adding a “me too”. iOS App stopped working after most recent update. V1 kickr.. all other apps (wahoo, TrainingPeaks) recognize device just fine.
I lost connection from my Kickr sometime between April 22 and May 9th. I’ve been using the 1st version since they first came out.
Moved your issue here. We hope to have a new build tomorrow that fixes this but since we don’t own a V1 kickr we can’t be sure the fix works. We have an emulator but for some reason the emulator is different than the actual hardware. We looked at previous code and current code and just could not identify the clear change but some times micro changes in timing of commands can affect specific trainers and V1 wahoo is very temperamental. I just realized I should test the Wahoo app with our emulator to see if I can see how they are doing it different than us.
Thank you for your response. I love your software and recommend it to everyone I know. I’ve been bummed not being able to do a zone 2 workout with the connection issue. But appreciate everything you are trying to do. Sounds like I’ve been very fortunate that I haven’t had any issues with my original Kickr until now. It’s been a steady workhorse and hopeful I do not have to replace it any time soon.
This is not a Kickr V1 problem… Meaning nothing likely changed there. It’s just a rarely used protocol. It was so popular in the beginning that all the apps supported it. Now it’s down to a smaller number of devices. I will do everything I can to get it fixed. Today new version should be available, I have my fingers crossed it is fixed.
Ok guys… another version is out… fingers crossed.
Hi Alex, I updated my app but still can’t connect. but I’m on Kickr V2, not V1. I can connect to Trainingpeaks Virtual and the Wahoo app, but not TrainerDay.
Depressing steve. I just added deep debugging on your account. Do you mind killing our app and re-going through the connection process? Disconnect and re-connect. Make sure it is not directly paired to your phone. I will start testing the wahoo app with our emulator to see if we can see what they are doing different. Interesting I did not know V2 and same firmware as V1. Once done let me know and I will review the logs. I am not giving up on this.
Unfortunately, me too. Excitedly planned to use the updated app this morning to no avail. Same symptom. V1 kickr
