Within TD, is there a way to search for just Coach Jack workouts?
No but that’s an interesting request. Are you wanting to search the workouts in your plan? There really is no such thing as a CJ workout as they are all made on the fly and unique for that person/plan. Although for example SFR #1 for 45 minutes would be very similar to someone elses SFR #1 for 45 minutes.
I only thought of it as i saw some Coach Jack group workouts on Zwift. I don’t have a CJ plan at the moment, so i was just interested in looking at CJ Endurance and Tempo workouts for inspiration whilst rebuilding.
Nothing needs to be done if the existing functionality is not there.
Which CJ plan to do you recommend for someone who predominantly want Z2 & Z3 workouts with 1 or the most 2 more intense workouts per week?
Serious Italian. You will find coach jack workouts are pleasant and not taxing and gradually will increase intensity and eventually be moderately hard but you will be so prepared for it you won’t notice
I just created a Serious Italian plan and the Threshold workouts only have a very small portion of Threshold work, whereas the SFR workouts are more challenging yet are labelled Endurance.
Is the Threshold label just a function of the fact that it has a portion of Threshold work in it, rather than it being for Threshold development? And likewise for SFR which look harder than the Endurance label?
I think you can ignore that question of mine, as i have resolved it myself
I found this article explaining the Coach Jack workout structure which helped, and i didn’t realise that you don’t see your watts targets for a particular interval until you look at it in My Plans after saving the plan.
I had to re-read what I wrote there to see if I had any bugs in what I was saying but looks good, meaning nothing has changed regarding the big picture here and how CJ workouts work.
How can one re-use Coach Jack workouts?
Background: I lost the Coach Jack workout for today and thought would simply manually add it to My Calendar for today. This was a workout called “Kerfuffle 285 + CAD”. However, if I search TD for workouts, there is no “Kerfuffle” even of comparable length…
It’s not a big deal in this specific case, I still know what to do today – will anyway split this into first half outdoor plus second half indoor due to current local temperatures … but generally it would be very interesting to be able to re-use these workouts directly in TD.
I guess, in principle, I could download the erg/zwo/json file from i.icu and load that into TD again – or, at least, do this for a planned workout of the next weeks that is similar.
There is a workaround… If you click edit on your current plan and re-save it and send to my plans. Then from my plans you can send any workout to your calendar. You are the first person that has mentioned this issue. Each workout is dynamically generated so the same workout could be in 20 different durations. We have thought about creating a TrainerDay library which could partially address this issue.
Right – thanks!
Yes, for an issue like mine today that would be absolutely fine:-) I simply did not think of that.
I guess the real solution here would be to dynamically create such workouts also on „user request“. I.e., have an interface were I, a user, can say „Please give me a Kerfuffle of 285 min.“
Yes, I hired a second app developer as we want to move faster and one of the things I love is the ability to have last minute planning. I kind of did this + button as an on the fly workout creator but seems like most people don’t get it so something like your idea is what we need to do. Super mobile friendly, very fast…
