Cannot select hearth rate sensor. (ANT+)

Hello!

Thank you for this wonderful and useful app!

Everything is going well, except for one issue: I cannot add the heart rate sensor. Although the app detects it, clicking the “+” sign doesn’t work (see the attached picture).

I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting, as well as restarting both the app and my phone, but the problem persists. The sensor appears on the list, but I can’t add it :frowning:

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you!

You are very welcome. It seems we have an Ant+ problem and your HRM seems to be Ant+ only we are working on getting this fixed but it might be next week before we can get it resolved.

Thank you for your feedback.

It is indeed an ANT+ sensor.

I look forward to any fixes you may provide that I would be happy to try!

Best,

So we looked into this and realized very few users use Ant+ and fixing this is not so easy so we are going to remove Ant+ support. Garmin has also said they are slowly working on stopping support for Ant+ and no longer working on the Ant+ program any more. It won’t die soon from garmin but seems the writing is on the wall. Sorry about that.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
What are your sources for stating that “very few users use Ant+”?
Isn’t the low usage of Ant+ linked to the fact that it doesn’t effectively work with the app?
It’s quite disappointing to hear that perfectly-functioning hardware might become obsolete due to inadequate software support. :frowning:

I am saying in TrainerDay very few people use Ant+ we just looked at last months saved workouts to see how many and it was mostly a handful of people using it regularly.

Ant+ is very big for outdoor connectivity and that won’t change soon. Also I am sure Zwift and TrainerRoad will continue to support it because they have a huge number of users and charge a lot of money so they can afford to.

You can see this is signs of the beginning of a slow death

Also Samsung stopped including it. So we are small and low cost and can’t afford to spend time fixing stuff that is time consuming that only benefits a few users.

You should feel happy that you don’t have a kinetic trainer. Basically people that own an older one can not use it any more unless they want to pay for Zwift or TrainerRoad or some expensive software…

I would say all older hardware eventually dies even if it is working fine… just because they no longer “connect…” iPhones/Android/Windows PC… all of it stops being useful.

Again I don’t like taking away features or depreciating stuff like this. We invested a lot into making Ant+ work but less and less people use it because their phones no longer support it (mostly).

I agree for ANT support on phones but on pc´s it will probably last way longer.
On phones, manufacturer support is likely to stop quit fast now that Samsung aborted.
On cycling head units it will be supported for years to come.
Sports watches are also gradually stopping ANT support and switching completely to BLE.

Yes I agree 100%… Exactly this.
