CJ Training Plan for Everesting

Hi Alex,

  1. I’m planning to train for an Everesting challenge. I wonder if Coach Jack can generate me a training plan to prepare me for this goal and if so what is the best setting for it.

  2. Also, I noticed no matter, what my goal for the training plan is, it seems that the long ride maxes out to 5-ish hour only even if my event is going to be way longer that 5 hours. I’m currently at the peak block of my CJ plan for Audax 300, and my esitiated riding time would be around 12-14 hours but the longest workout I have on my CJ Training plan is only 5h15m. Is this really optimal and would this prepare me enough for my 300km endurance event?

Thanks!

Yes this is one of the features I want to add soon, which is a long ride focus progression to put most of the focus on the long ride.

No for a 300km event you should focus on doing a long ride that builds up to ideally 50% of that time. If you are looking at your last 2 months before this event, you really could just be doing 100% zone 2 since I assume 95% of your 300km will be in zone 1/zone 2. Jack is not well optimized for such long rides unless you are really racing them and going hard on the climbs for example. Then the jack plan is good but your long ride still needs to be self managed. Just increase it 10% per week unless more feels fine just be careful.
