Hi, I’m a new user of Training Day. Great app tbh! Congratulations!
However, I have one small problem…
Why don’t I have the “Climbs” and “Interesting Places” options in the browser as described in the link above? I only have the “Places” option in the app (there is no “Clims” option) but even after selecting it and re-syncing yesterday’s activity with Strava, no map was attached.
We recently added speed and distance to the app, so to avoid confusion we removed these maps. We have many requests to bring them back so we will but not sure when.
But there is still a “Places” function in the app, does it do anything then?
I understand that this “climb” function artificially added an incline and changed the distance traveled as a result? So now the calculations are performed for a completely zero total incline?
It’s currently calculated at .5% incline I believe. But you can modify your CD (aerodynamic drag) in the web site profile settings if want to go slower or faster Yes, that app setting does not do anything. It’s removed in the next version.
I understand, but it would be nice if it also counted the total height difference and added it to the Strava. So if people ask to restore this option, I join them.
One more thing, if we add a .gpx file in live streaming mode to the browser, after the activity ends, the map will be added to strava?
Ok, I tested the ride with the map loaded in browser and unfortunately they won’t show up in strava either. Unfortunately the total altitude covered isn’t displayed either, because as I understand it the average speed takes into account the slope of the terrain or is this map just a visualization for fun?
Sorry for the late response. Yes that map is visual only, to approximate what you are doing. I don’t believe that feature has been used much and no one has requested that data sent to strava and used in the calculation.
But to approximate it as if you were riding on flat ground the whole time, right?
It would be nice if it took into account the hight from the .gpx file and at the end gave the total elevation gain because that’s the only thing I really miss now compared to Zwift/MyWhoosh because kilometers ridden alone mean nothing if you don’t know what the elevation gain was.
