I send workouts to my Garmin 1030 Edge (via Connect)
I have done these two workouts before (one from the library and one I created myself)
When I did them a second time I select “Indoor Trainer” “Follow a Workout”
the ERG drops off mid workout
It also happened with some other Trainer Day workouts that I sent to Garmin Connect.
I use the Garmin as I can get Cadence through ANT, I can’t get cadence on the Trainer Day app as only I think that its is only Bluetooth and my wahoo kicker doesn’t have cadence, I have a separate ANT cadence sensor on the bike - it connects fine to the Garmin.
Any thoughts on why ERG suddenly drops off and I can’t seem to get back to ERG mode on the Garmin?
So you are saying you are using garmin only, not our app for training. I don’t know many people like this although I do know people do this so have not heard of garmin devices and ERG problems. I am fairly confident this would be unrelated to TrainerDay. I would guess google is your best friend in this case. Make sure no app like trainerday can be running and make sure you don’t have your wahoo paired to your phone for example in ios/android settings. Also no wahoo apps running, nothing that could connect via bluetooth.
Another option is connecting your Garmin to your devices, not as a trainer, but as a power meter and a cadence sensor, and using our app to control your trainer. Many people do it this way. Then you’ll have a bigger screen, some more features. So the Garmin is just for recording.
Thanks Alex maybe I will try that, my wahoo kicker is one of the first ones and it doesn’t have cadence inherent in it.
It connects to the App no problem so does my HR, the only thing is I have not ANT to pair the speed and cadence , but I will try the App and use the Garmin for recording and see how it goes.
Its weird as it works fine most of the time but sometimes ERG just stops and the watts are all over the place
