Hello! I’ve recently converted from Zwift to TrainerDay. I run TrainerDay on macOS Tahoe 26.5 with an ANT+ dongle, and ERG mode doesn’t seem to work. For example, when the target is set to 109W, I just can’t reach this wattage - there’s almost NO resistance at all in the pedals, and I keep spinning at some insane RPMs at around 70W. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?
I tried a Bluetooth connection instead on my iPhone, and here I see a different picture (or maybe the same one) - the power display shows values between the actual target and target/2, and on the graph it looks like an insane sawtooth.
And the overall workout felt weird, especially when the target was 110 with these dropouts to 54. I felt changes in resistance, and even though I kept my cadence the same across the whole workout, I felt these really noticeable resistance changes.
I’ve checked my previous workouts in Zwift, and there are no such fluctuations at all – ±2 watts.
Ant+ is used by very few on our desktop. Our desktop is rather new and not even sure how many Victory users use it. This is a unique device compared to others but I do some victory users are using our mobile app and confirmed it worked. If you have both ant+ and ble there could be strange conflicts happening. Make sure nothing else is connected, make sure it is not paired to your phone and test the phone app it should work fine.
I actually tried it on my phone (iOS) with Bluetooth — same problem, random dropouts. I checked workouts that my wife did (she’s been using the app for the last few months) and she had a similar problem: below 50 watts everything seems fine, but after 50+ watts, the same insane sawtooth pattern.
Not sure my issue is the same. I’m on a wahoo kickr core v1 at the moment, though I do have a JBV (long story). Below 100 watts I do not have this drop out issue, but above 100 I do seem to have it. It’s intermittent, maybe 1-3 second and 5-15 watt drops before returning to normal.
I did go through support with JB over an issue a while back and they said TD and JB victory don’t play well together over Wifi, so it was suggested I turn that off and use only BLE. Coming from Zwift I imagine you might have been using Wifi since JBV has it. Since you don’t need the Wifi for TD, I would just have your JBV app forget your wifi and see how that goes.
