I tried to jump on to Trainer Day for my first session today, having previously used Zwift.
I have a Wahoo Kickr Snap V2, Favero Assioma Uno power pedals, using the Android app and am syncing workouts through Training Peaks.
On the first ride I started my warmup, pedalling quite firmly but the reading only showed about 50 watts. I know from Zwift and from outside riding that this was off. Then, I noticed that under Power Match, the reading looked more accurate (screenshot below is of me at ‘121 watts’ according to Trainer Day, then +116w at 235w in the Power Match section).
ERG mode was also definitely not working as my wattage was not even close to steady.
It felt like I was pedaling through concrete just to keep the wattage at a decent rate. This was just the warmup so didn’t bother going any further.
The question is, what am I doing wrong? Really hoping to use this as much as possible in the next few days so a quick fix would be welcomed!
FYI: there are multiple ways to handle this. When connected with ANT+, there is no problem. Single or double, ANT+ handles all that. But BLE connection has no standard way of doing this. You could change the setting in your Assioma app to send double single sided, it will only do it on the BLE channel. Or you can do it in the TrainerDay app.
There are cycling apps that don’t have the setting and then you can only correct by setting it in the Assioma app.
So it’s up to you to decide where you correct for it.
We also have a slider called power smoothing that will reduce the amount of up and down you see. Generally power is a very up and down activity and pedals show this a lot.
