Hi - Ive had a few issues lately when following workouts in ERG Mode. Power seems to be spiking all over the place and is very hard to hold stable, even with a relatively steady cadence.
I had an exercise the other day where I was trying to meet power at low cadence (about 55RPM), but just wasn’t getting the resistance through the trainer to hit the power needed. The only way I could reach the power was to up cadence.
All seemed to work fine a few weeks ago but the last few times I’ve been having this issue.
I’ve started a workout using quick start & seem to get fairly consistent power at high/low cadence when trying to hit target. But when I try and follow the structured workout, it seems to go back to spiking.
I train with my partner at the same time using the same setup & we’ve both experienced this lately. (Side by side, following the same plan).
We’re each using a Kickr snap, paired to android via Bluetooth. (Pixel 9 & 7 respectively).
Couple of screenshots showing the issue - one showing pretty stable a few weeks back & now the spiking/inconsistent power.
Hi there are many things that could be going on here. My guess is you need to go to connections and click on your device and click “controllable” but if you send me a screenshot of when you are pedalling that would help. Bluetooth interference can cause issues like this. There are many possibilities. Let me know if you still have problems.
Heya - Thanks for responding. I’ve just had a play around with some settings. I wasn’t able to find the “controllable” setting when looking at my connected devices (see screenshot below).
When playing around today I had the same issue. Just couldn’t get the required resistance. However I came out of the exercise & tried the quick start. Still had the issue initially but I switched mode from ERG to Resistance & immediately felt the resistance kick in. - I then stopped this exercise, went back into the planned workout & it seemed to be working fine. Much more stable & could easily hit the required power at low RPM.
I’ll have another play around tomorrow & see if regularly doing this seems to fix things. A few extra screenshots below showing different conditions.
Yes, so sorry this is a new bug of ours. You are not seeing controllable. It’s strange some people are seeing this issue. We will have this fixed ASAP. I am hoping by Friday but early next week if not.
Had the same issue this morning but the workaround I mentioned in my last post worked again & seems to be a pretty reliable way around the issue in the meantime.
