I was looking on the TrainerDay Windows app, and was having difficulty finding a way to change the “Sport” to rowing. My Android app shows it, but not Windows.
My goal is to use TrainerDay workouts with my WaterRower (brand) rower with the SmartRow pulley that measures all the nice power data.
The SmartRow Android App lets you connect via Bluetooth to the SmartRow pulley - and use their basic SmartRow App, but it also lets you forward a connection (from the Android App) to another device running a compatible rowing app like EXR Rowing, Kinomap, and even Zwift.
Think of the SmartRow Android App being the “repeater” for the power data (SmartRow uses their own protocol different than FTMS).
One of the benefits is that the SmartRow Android App shows your “force curve” graph for each stroke - which helps keep my form (and avoiding injuries). Great it TrainerDay eventually does this, but for now showing up on the “repeater app” is good enough.
Selecting “Zwift” as the target for sending the rower’s power data, I was able to get TrainerDay (Windows) to show up as a rowing device. Great! Except I’d like it to show up as a rower in TrainerDay instead of a bike.
I’d use the Android app, but it doesn’t use ANT+ for a HRM - but that works great in TrainerDay on Windows (Hooray!).
Any tips/experience/ideas on how to get this to work?
I’m willing to do any/all testing to get a configuration to work.
Would be a bit of a game changer for my cross-training to be able to use workouts on TrainerDay.
