Hi everyone, I just tried to use Trainer Day for the first time with my Elite Suito trainer and I don’t think the ERG mode is working, even though I’ve selected ERG mode.
I can feel the resistance increase when the watts in the workout profile increase. But my watts are not matching the “target” on the dashboard. Isn’t ERG mode supposed to control things so the watts match the target?
I unplugged and replugged my trainer, made sure the Elite app (myETraining) was updated, and deleted and re-installed the Trainer Day app and I’m still having this problem.
Hi we have a Suito and it works fine for us. Make sure Elite app is not running or any other apps that might connect to your trainer. Make sure you are in a middle gear on the trainer. Make sure you don’t have a bike computer turned on and connected to the trainer. Yes ERG in a middle gear should just work and target watts should be more or less the same as target (they can jump around a bit). Make sure you don’t have power meter connected.
OK, unfortunately that didn’t work. I’m in the middle gear. I deleted my Elite app so there’s no way it could have been connected to the trainer. I don’t have a power meter. And I don’t have any other gear that could connect to the trainer.
The trainer and app are clearly able to communicate with each other: The app is reading my power and RPM, I can feel the resistance increase when the watts in the workout profile increase, and I feel resistance increase when I clicked on “slope” mode.
So I’m not sure why the trainer won’t go into ERG mode. Maybe it’s defective? I could try reaching out to Elite.
It sounds more likely to be a defect in your trainer or you need to update firmware in Elite as I said our Suito works fine. You could always try something like https://biketerra.com/ for free to see if it works there.
