i have had an interesting change in the way the app is running HR target intervals. previously, if the app was switching from an ERG interval to an HR+ interval, it would do so seamlessly, with no initial change in power output, then adjusting for HR target as needed.
Now, same workouts, when it switches from ERG interval to HR+ the power drops out to almost zero, regardless of the previous interval power or the new HR target. look at these screenshots. same workout, one before trainerday update and one after. notice the power drops after every 1minute erg recovery interval.
kickr core. it has only started doing this as of the last update. i am going to try to rebuild the workout in the new editor and see if that fixes it and report back
It doesnt need the power populated for HR+ intervals. O ly if you want the estimated time in zone to be more accurate. I have about 20 different workouts with HR+ intervals some with power filled in some without and they all work the same. I made this workout with the old editor and now it looks like it automatically turned it into reps/sets so that could be the issue.
Haha I think they are skewed because i have my threshold HR set to 140 in the app. So it thinks im riding above threshold, but in reality 150bpm is my Z2
Ok just commenting here that I am going to start working on this hopefully tomorrow. But new version should be coming tomorrow and does not have this fix yet.
FWIW i modified the workout without the 8x interval and just put each individual interval in and it worked without the dropping power issue. now granted i also have watt ranges so graphically it looks like what the ride should be, so this test cant really rule anything out due to changing too many variables in one shot, but its something haha.
Yes the zeros were part of the problem but the underlying problem is I believe it first send a base target of 20 or 40% of FTP based on your settings and 2 seconds later sends the actual target.
