I’m not sure why my HRM sometimes gets disconnected after a pause (e.g., to eat or refill water, which takes a few minutes). When I get back and start pedaling again, my heart rate doesn’t show anymore. I tried restarting my armband HRM and reconnecting it, but the TrainerDay (TD) app couldn’t find it. So, I added another HRM, and it worked. That was the first instance, which happened the other day.
Earlier today, I did a workout using the second HRM. I took a break in the middle of the workout, and the same issue happened again. I then re-added the original HRM that had disconnected during my previous ride.
When I looked at the number of sensors, it showed four (circled in the screenshot below). This suggests that, for some reason, the HRM is connected but not displaying in the list.
I’m using an iPhone 13 with two heart rate monitors: my Forerunner 165 and an armband HRM by Coopsco.
We have a new version of our app coming out and we changed the way connections work significantly. This seems to be a rare issue but you are not the only one. We don’t know why this only affects a small number of people but hopefully this new version resolves it. Probably out after the new years. We are testing it now.
Another solution people find might resolve this is uninstalling our app and re-installing. No idea why but this can occasionally help as well.
Yes, I think the same thing happened to me. I went to the bathroom, which disconnected the Bluetooth connection, but I couldn’t reconnect the same sensor afterward.
Thanks, Alex for the quick reply. Looking forward to the new version of TP app. I’ll try the uninstalling/reinstalling workaround and see if it works on my end.
