Low Calories in Apple Health

I have been noticing that TD app tracks low calories for activities lately. As a 200lb big guy, an hour Z2/3 workout nets me around 450/500 active calories. However, TD tracks around 150cal. I wore my garmin watch yesterday and connected both TD app and the watch to my Tacx trainer to compare. Sure enough, TD tracked 131 cal vs 555cal on garmin watch for an hour z2. What’s interesting is I kept an eye on calories burnt shown in the app during the workout and it was spot on. Somehow it gets jumbled up when uploading to Apple health. TD Is set to read body weight from Apple health, so weight is updated. Any idea what could I be missing here? TIA!

We will review this. The math from watts to calories is very simple and 550cal is the correct amount. Not sure if we are writing the watts to apple health or if apple is some how doing it from heart rate. Seems it should be easy to fix.

Hi, I recognized the same thing. For me its not so important since I don’t care about calories at all and every app give you a different number.

However, for my last workout, 60 mins 128 bpm HR+ TD give 70 calories. Whoop, my actual Device put 377 calories. I cant see any reference to Watts, nor CAD.

I red that Apple Health estimate calories using the gyro/motion sensor in the iPhone. So doing indoor rides it will lay around, not moving at all, which could result into that low numbers possibly?
