My takeaway is he’s saying bike riding isn’t quite the same as what it was when he was younger. Don’t be an amateur who takes all of this too seriously and most of all just have fun. It’s easy to get caught up in “gains” and maybe that is how a lot of people have fun on the bike, but don’t forget the having fun part.
