Maybe I’m missing something but there was a way to specify which days should be long days in the plan. Building the plan now and can’t see it?
Ahhhh I see. This used to look different.
It’s what happens when I don’t look at new plans because i set mine up for 6 months at a time. Thanx.
Personally, I liked the old method of marking it a long day, and just let CJ tell me how long it should be. My appetite has always been bigger than my ability, so I’d always set if for 4, 5, or even 6 hours. The plan doesn’t always give me that much time, but sometimes it does.
I’ve done plans side by side to see what would happen, one saying 4 hours and another saying 6 hours, and they’ve been different. I trust CJ more than myself to progress appropriately, so I don’t end up cooked.
I do like the current feature for non-long days where I only have 60-90 minutes due to work or other commitments. I wonder if it’s a feature Alex could implement, some sort of combo where CJ tells you how long to do on your long days (you just check the box saying “long day”) and the other days you tell CJ how much time you have, or as the end user we get to choose the old way or the new way.
The problem is we had three different sources of time: weekly, daily limits, and long ride. The combination of those cause confusion and problems. So we tried to simplify and give something that could generate pretty much every possibility from a single source. I don’t know if there’s a better way even to keep everybody happy, “simple” and happy.
Totally get it. It’s got to be a simple solution, and you can’t please everyone and every little nuance. I’m not a coder but could imagine it would get quite cumbersome trying to implement all these different requests. You’ve got to put in the solution that’s easiest to pull off and have the greatest benefit to the most people. I’m not complaining about it by any means. I love the platform and find a tremendous amount of value out of it.
No the tasks are fun as long as they don’t cause more problems then they solve. I would be more than happy to implement something better. There is just a million variants. I keep hoping we can tame LLMs to be extremely flexible and give good plans, and allow people to provide their own ideas even if contrary to ours. We will see. Right now we are running 12 micro requests in parallel, as but complex questions make LLMs confused quickly, or you have to use expensive models that are slow.
disregard and delete.
