Hi Alex, I found two minor glitches in TODAY’s view:
In landscape mode the drop down with the workout lengths is partially covered by the description text (see 1st screen shot). As a result of this you cannot select the first two items of the drop-down. As a workaround you can switch to portrait.
If you choose a different workout length, e.g. 90 minutes, and then refresh the recommended workout list with the button in the upper left corner, the recommended workouts have a length of 60 minutes, even hough the title still says “90 Minute Workouts” (see 2nd screen shot).
I’m using an iPad Air, 5th gen, with iPadOS 18.6.2.
Click “reload” to get another workout recommendation.
See a 60 minute workout being recommended.
I am generally quite unhappy since the app update. The old version was slick and worked for me. The new one is buggy and slow for me.
I could not get into the workout details to add it to favorites. Now I can tap on the blue graph to go “into” the workout multiple times recursively. If I do it three times, it slows down the app so much, that it takes seconds to react to taps.
Or maybe it’s just a general slowdown from quickly navigating between the workouts/pages? I reload workouts on Today a couple of times, I add some workouts I like to Favorites, I clean up some old Favorites and it takes seconds for some taps to produce the “tap” sound, never mind seeing an effect.
Removing and adding from Favorites is not reliable. I am convinced that at least once it removed the workout I did not want. Another time I had to refresh the page to see added workouts.
I sometimes close a workout screen and get “Oops, try again later”.
Alex, what happened to the swift and reliable TrainerDay app? Or is it just me?
We made major updates that fixed a lot of issues (we used to have like 1 user crash a day now on Android I see none in the latest version) but we caused some new issues obviously.
You will see a fresh new better than ever TD app soon as we work through any final issues. Yes I think this bug still exists, I have not looked at that refresh issue yet still dealing with some more critical issues. Apple approval is still coming with next version that should be even better.
The first issue described by @azzieg also happens on my iPad. If you tap on the workout graph, workout details are loaded again. The app slows down with every tap on the graph until it stops responding at all.
I should say we have 5 years of legacy issues we are cleaning up. It was like bandaids on bandaids being careful not to disrupt anything but we could not get to the root cause of many issues.
We have tested a huge amount and not seen any of these issues before deploying but to be honest this today tab was not very well tested. Many issues are device specific and we don’t have enough devices or time to test them all. I am sorry this is disrupting your workouts. We really want to make it better long term for everyone.
Verion 6.9.1 appeared in app store today and release notes are saying that landscape drop down in today tab is fixed. But apparently it is not fixed - at least on my iPad. Instead the overlapping text just appears a little bit more downwards than before.
No sorry, I only read 1/2 of your message (or the visual part) and did not read the second 1/2 when I created that. It’s fixed on the next version coming. Hopefully tomorrow.
Can you verify at the bottom of other settings it shows the right version number and tell me your phone model and android version. Also make sure you are looking at recommend or at least not planned.
It says 6.9.7 even in the app. I’m using an iPad Air, 5th gen, with iPadOS 18.6.2 (as stated in my initial post). And yes, I’m sure I’m looking at the recommended workouts. On my wife’s iPad the issues are also occurring on 6.9.7.
I am just going to change my name to sorry… I have no idea how that came back. ios landscape does not get tested so much. Need to set up some automation for that I guess. I see the text over the selector but only ios landscape. But the filter works on all my iOS devices. 18.6.2 is only on my phone
Now the overlay is fixed (again), see the filter working
Hi Alex, it is still a minor issue, so no worries. In contrast to the app the filter is working fine on the website (btw, thanks for pointing out a simple and obvious workaround that I didn’t get for any strange reason ). If you like I can pre-test the next version with test flight. You already had invited me a year or so ago, but I switched to regular updates some time ago and I don’t know if I’m still able to access it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the filter is also not working in portrait mode on the iPad.
Edit #2: To avoid any further confusion I would like to clarify, that the filter is and was working right after changing the duration in the drop-down. What is not working is the refresh button. After tapping refresh only workouts with a length of 60 minutes are presented - regardless of the filter setting.
Oh I forgot what the issue was. I am trying to move too fast here. Yes refresh does not work correctly. I would be happy to invite you back to test flight. We actually changed to TrainerDay inc and lost all our ios beta testers. I don’t need you to test. I had some merging issues and the changes regarding the fixes on refresh most have gotten lost in a merge. I will fix it. If you want to be on beta let me know.
