Hi - i’ve got the “add cool places” ticked when I connect to Strava, but I’m not getting any cool places added to the Strava when it uploads. Any thoughts?
We are in the process of removing cool places and instead adding speed and distance to the app. Because they would have had different distances we did not want to confuse people so we removed cool places even though we like it. The checkbox is supposed to be removed every where but maybe the app removal still need to be send to apple/google.
Shame, I like the cool places, I was excited to see where I had been!
I like it too, I would like to keep it but to process this information in real time would cause some people slow down issues.
I guess we could add it back, but disable speed / distance in the app if cool places is on for example.
The cool places is fun, I also like to know the speed and distance. Can we not keep both?
It seems like any extra processing we add risks slowing down peoples devices… It should be possible but it’s a risk.
I know it may seem silly but i really enjoyed the somewhat faux elevation gain. Would love to see it come back.
Ok another vote to figure out how to bring it back… Let me see if I can find an elegant solution. I like it also.

What is the formula for elevation gain, what is it based on? Thanks.
What do you mean formula for elevation gain? If we are using our maps we just use the elevation from the map. Strava would be the one calculating gain or loss.

This is a big task and the team is really busy now so this is not something that will happen quickly. I would think it might take 3-6 months.
