Power - Wattage Issues - wattbike

Hi. I am testing the app on an iPad and a Wattbike Atom

Power in ERG modes is not what I was expecting. I’m hitting my FTP wattage of around 169 when it should be targeted between 75-100 with the plan I have loaded.

See white lines on attached picture which I assume is my Power

Something is obviously wrong. You might want to start with workouts without ramps, just simple steps. Make sure no garmin device or anything else is connected. Make sure your wattbike is not directly paired to the ipad in ios settings… otherwise some times a restart or re-install of our app can fix things… this seems strange.

I also use a Wattbike atom and ipad for TrainerDay.

As well as checking the things mentioned by Alex, just check that the Wattbike Hub app isn’t open / connected to your Wattbike too.

I occasionally have the same power issue with Wattbike HUB, and I was hoping moving to another training platform would solve the problem. I’ll do a reboot and see what happens. It’s hard to tell if an App on the iPad still has its hooks into the peripherals as there isn’t an App shutdown option like Android

One other thing to try on the Wattbike Atom when it is playing up on power (this is a tip given to me by a Wattbike Service tech).

During the workout, when it starts playing up, press any / all of the gear change buttons a few times.

I have used this successfully a couple of times when resistance has dropped out totally. Maybe it will help in your situation too?

I have moved over to the Wahoo Apps, and strangely, the experience is much better. The Wahoo App handles the transition between power sections much better than the Wattbike Hub App

The Wattbike Hub has only ever disappointed me.

Is your bike firmware up to date? Current versions here https://support.wattbike.com/en-GB/current-wattbike-firmware-versions-2477143

On TrainerDay, TrainerRoad, Wahoo and MyWhoosh (admittedly I only used that once for about 10 minutes), I am satisfied with the Atom (mine is the V2 if that matters).

I need to check the firmware version, I have a ticket open with Wattbike, and they have responded with the usual two pages of test, which I find a bit tedious, not got around to checking yet
