I’ve been using Trainer Day for a week or two now.
I’m also new to using a Smart Trainer. I have a Wahoo Kickr Snap. The Trainer Day App is also connecting to a HRM and a Quarq Power Meter. And there’s a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt on my bike as well.
I tried doing a workout today. The Ultimate 30-minute race workout, FWIW. When I was in the easy intervals, my power would read 150w. Then when the hard intervals started, my power would drop to 115w or so even though I could feel the resistance increasing and I was still pedaling (though at a lower cadence). The hard intervals felt much harder than the easy, yet my power was down.
This doesn’t seem right to me. Is there an error somewhere in the system?
Also, oddly, the resulting power file on my Bolt doesn’t have any power readings. Don’t know if it’s related.
How are your sensors paired? Does TDapp control the trainer? Alternatively, for controlling the trainer, use the Bolt, meaning pair the trainer and HRM with the computer, and from the TD calendar, send the workout to the Bolt as power. Do you also have a power measurement in the cranks? In that case, you can control the trainer via TDapp, and use the power measurement for registration on the Bolt.
I would start by disconnecting your pedals and seeing just what is happening with the trainer. This is odd and never heard of this particular issue. If you are feeling the right thing but seeing something different it would appear your pedals are outputting strange power for some reason.
Low batteries? They need calibration? Although I have never heard of power going down and resistance goes up. Anyway try a short workout by disconnecting the pedals the sound like the source of the problem.
