Running workouts on Garmin vs Android/iOS App

Was just curious if I would notice any difference in running a planned workout in ERG mode on my Garmin Fenix 7x vs using the Android TrainerDay app.

There seems to be more options for fine tuning if I need to quickly increase/decrease power on the android app. Also can see what’s upcoming more clearly.

However, running the workout on the Garmin means no more need to dual record.

You also have a limit of 50 steps for a workout in Garmin but I do know a few people that prefer their bike computer. Have not heard of watch only.

I tried it Garmin 530 but did not like it but it partially depends on how you train. If you follow a strict calendar with simple workouts and don’t need the bigger screen or flexibility I think it can work.

I personally would sync our activities to Dropbox and just upload to Garmin connect from pc/Mac manually if I cared about everything in GC.
