Looking ahead at my plan, I can see that identical rides increase in duration but never instensity. So, V02max rides increase 15 min every week but no nudge in intensity. I appreciate i can adjust mid ride but doesnt a plan anticipate that as one progresses through the plan, fitness increases-hopefully!-and so relative intensity should rise as well, not just duration? Perhaps i have it wrong and should not worry.
I would say the popular current trend matches the belief that CJ has always had which is durability is actually the most important part. So doing same intensity but longer is enough. We do have some VO2max progressions that also increase a bit in intensity as well. Your FTP likely increases a bit so that increases the actual target watts but it’s really not that important. We could review actual plan and can find you something that increases intensity as well if you want.
But I just would accept what it is…
