[SOLVED] - Crashing on open on iOS

This is new to me — running iOS 18.4.1 on an iPhone 16 Pro. The TrainerDay app version is 5.2.5. Currently whenever I try to open the app, it starts, shows that it’s trying to refresh, and then crashes. I tried rebooting the phone. I tried reinstalling the app. No change to the behavior. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have not heard of this. It’s strange. Can you tell me after a reinstall the exact moment that it crashes?

Hi Alex - Here’s what I did this morning:

  1. Deleted the app
  2. Reinstalled from the app store
  3. Started the app
3a. gave it permission to find bluetooth devices
3b. tapped Already a Member to login
3c. Used my existing login (loaded from LastPass) to log in
    3d. login info fills
    3e. App crashes

On a restart of the app:

  1. I get the main screen as if I’ve logged in showing Today, and a dropdown for 60 minute workouts
  2. I see the “refresh” arrow at the bottom of the screen begin to spin
  3. App crashes

Here’s a screenshot I managed to take just before a crash:

Additional update!

IF I can manage to tap the Workouts button, the Quick Start button, or the Activities button at the bottom of the screen before the app crashes, then it does NOT crash! It is only the Today button where the crash happens. If I tap back to the Today button from any of the other screens, then the app immediately crashes.

So that isolates the issue somewhat I guess.

Ok I just refreshed your today workouts on the website. It seems like some how one of those workouts is causing it to crash (my guess).

That does not seem to have resolved anything. I am noticing the same exact behavior on an iPad. I tried logging off / logging on to see if that made a difference after the refresh you mentioned, but no change.

Are you following a plan and is it from our calendar or some place else? Changing plan source might fix it.

I am following a plan that Coach Jack built. It looks like, from the web app, the plan source is listed as “my plans.” Just changed it to “my calendar.” Tried the app again and it seems to work now! So there’s something about the “my plans” source that isn’t behaving correctly.

Thanks we will check. Others use it this way but at least we see the source of the problem.
