[SOLVED] - Mac version crashes

Hello,
I’ve been using TrainerDay on my M1 MacBook Air for around a month. I think the most recent version may be faulty - since the update around a week ago there have been crashes when opening the app. After two or three tries the app would eventually open and let me do my workout, without crashing throughout.

However today the issue escalated - now I cannot open the app at all, it crashes immediately when I try to open it. Restarting my computer and reinstalling the app did not resolve it.

Hmmm, sorry to hear that. Yes last version we tried to fix an issue that Healthkit throws an error on macbooks for some reason (I guess these macs don’t have apple health is probably why) but our fix sounds like it made it worse. We will look at this. What is also strange is it works totally fine on my mac and our testers mac. Did you also try just logging out and logging in to our app? Uninstall should be similar but something to try.

I cannot login or logout. The app crashes the moment I press on the icon to start it up. No TP window is displayed, just straight to crash report window. I do have the Health app connected on my iPhone. On Mac it was turned off.

I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it seems some data is cached. Maybe your data is corrupt some how. It was not easy to find but with enough questions to ChatGPT it found the answer. I had to delete this folder then it forced me to login again.

~/library/containers/trainerday

Cool, this workaround worked - the app window appeared and let me log back in. Hopefully you’ll find the problem causing the issue  I’ll let you know if it crashes again.

Seems like some strange mac data corruption issue but hard to say at this point. Since we can’t reproduce it and don’t see this error on our side it’s nearly impossible to fix. Let me know if you see this again.
