Since ai have the new interface for the connected devices, im not able to add my HR broadcast coming from my forerunner watch, i see it as a paired device, tried removing and adding it again. But im not able to get it in connected devices anymore. See printscreen.
With the new interface mentioned above, I had problems with my Elite Suito. I could SEE it (at 0 watts, 0 RPM), but whe I started pedalling, nothing happened. I used to have this before, it was related to connections with a garmin at the same time. Very frustrating, got rid of the Garmin but I could NOT get Trainerday to work with my phone anymore. I had to use another device, which probably had an older version of Trainerday.
I discovered this change by coincidence when I switched to a WAHOO ROLLR, which always worked without any problem. Same problem now! But then I found the option to click on what the device does. I still don’t understand it exactly, but I clicked on a lot of stuff (including “power”). And … it worked ! So now I’m guessing this new feature requires me to make changes to my Elite Suito as well. Don’t have access to it this week, but will try.
When others have similar problems : check this feature !
Thanks for informing! Indeed I’m running on the latest version, and it seems to be fixed for my HR strap.
However, I had an issue with my kickr core not popping up, and also staying in the unused paired devices. I eventually closed all apps, entered flight mode and restarted App, that did the trick.
I will see how it goes next training session, but hope I can immediately connect to my indoor trainer without searching for tricks.
Yes this chage was supposed to be automatic (invisible for existing users) but sadly at the last minute something changed and was not in all cases, like yours…
You just made me realize a problem. If you have 2 paired devices that both need power or controllable for example it likely needs to be changed each time. We will fix this.
Which is most likely where my problem came from. I’m back to the Elite Suito this week. Now that I know this, I’ll see this evening if I can get it to work :-). What I could also do is remove one device and add when I need it. One trainer is in our house in Belgium, the other one in our house in France. Never need both at the same time period.
Yep that’s it. That reminds me, just went on vacation to crete and flying back noticed the guy had a bike on his desktop of iPad so I asked him. He was 75, lives in Switzerland and has done lots of crazy long adventures like across Tibet… He said recently his friend had a second home in France and was having a birthday party so he just biked their and his wife left 4 days later in the car… I guess you don’t usually bike from house to house
what a great guy to meet !
So : from house to house is 915km. I have 2 bikes that I swap a couple of times a year, depending on what is going on (like I did one swap yesterday). Actually : in the Belgium house, there’s a 3rd “bike”, which is an old bike that is permanently setup on the Suite trainer. For the French “indoor” solution, I bought the Wahoo Rollr so I can easily swap whatever bike is there.
But on your question : no, I don’t travel “by bike”. at least: NOT YET ! But it’s in my list of things to do One day I want to do it in 6-7 days. For the moment, the time is the constraint. But that “adventure” will be done one day…
I actually do “the same” the Swiss guy when we go on a family visit. Most of them live 70-80km away. I always plan a route of about 100k, I go with my bike. They know when I arrive all I need is a shower. And my wife comes with the car
So… total failure. At first I couldn’t get the app to start working with the Suito on my phone, which I’m usually using. I put the phone away and used an Android Tablet. After some tries (which is weird), I got it to work. After 27 minutes, everything dropped. No more power, no more candence reading. I restarted the trainer, but a couple of minutes later, everything dropped again. After that I gave up, I couldn’t get it to work.
Would it be possible to check the file: is it an app problem, then maybe this files helps to find a problem. Or… did the Elite Suito just decide to break down for some strange raison… Thanks God it’s summer, tomorrow I’m going outside for a ride
Oh that sucks. Let me make sure my tester tested our Suito… Have not heard of any issues like this. We can’t see by that file. We could do a debug mode on your device, but first let me find out.
I’m suspecting there’s another issue… As an IT person, I start to look into all IT angles : connections, bluetooth, conflicts,… But, I start to suspect there’s a physical problem with the trainer. The trainer is several years old. I don’t see any need to replace it, it does exactly what I want it to do. Well, if it’s working A colleague told me he has issues with a similar trainer, which where cause by dust “collection” inside the trainer. I know, as an IT person, that seems like a different world Well, since I’ve never opened the trainer to clean it (which honestly one should not be doing anyway), that’s my next try… The trainer has always been in the same room, in the same location. But indeed, dust builds up I would suspect. The Elite is supposed to be a “dry system”, so I can’t clean it with the usual bike stuff. But I can clean it by opening it and blowing air into it… Fingers crossed… If not, I’m suspecting I’m up for a new trainer…
So my Elite Suito had 2 problems : I had problems to start a session and I had connection drops. To be specific : The trainer would always connect, I could see 0 Watt and 0 RPM. But when I started a session, there would be no resistance and no cadence tracking. It sometimes took me 3-4 tries, reboot, do all kind of work arounds to get started. I also suspected a conflict with a Garmin device. This week it got worse : during a workout, I had a drop. I could still see 0 Watt and 0 RPM, but I couldn’t get the trainer to work.
As a IT person, I started to look into all the “IT related stuff” : connection, bluetooth, Android, get feedback from Alex on the app,… Until I got to the point I suspected the issue was with the trainer.
Now the outcome : it was the trainer. Check out this video: How I fixed my Elite Suito
The symptoms where not the same, but what was wrong was nothing more than this. I opened the trainer, kind of cleaned the screw, added some bike grease lubicrant. Had to move 5 times using the app (see video) and … miracle, it works again like new.
Posting this for 2 reasons : if other people have this type of issues, they might be related to the hardware… second reason : I noticed in the last 2 weeks the AI chat tool pickup this forum Good for Alex and the team to show up in these tools
