[SOLVED] - Power locked at 50 watts

Hi Alex, I’m trying out TrainerDay on my PC. Everything seems to be working fine, except that when the target exceeds 50 watts, the power reading doesn’t update and stays stuck at 50 watts. Note that, since I also use Zwift, I had to come up with a workaround to connect a second ANT+ USB dongle. I currently have two ANT+ dongles: one for Zwift and another for TrainerDay. I don’t think this setup should cause any issues. The problem is that ERG mode doesn’t seem to be working it’s as if the trainer and the PC app aren’t communicating. I have a Magnetic Days Jarvis trainer, which works with all commercially available software. Thanks.

Hi, I would simplify to start with. Just your trainer with our PC app using bluetooth (assuming that trainer is FTMS). Turn off zwift for now. If not, we don’t have a lot of users using Ant+ so it is less tested. But multiple apps connected can cause issues, you need to at the minimum make sure it is not controllable in Zwift. If you take screenshots of training screen and connection screen it can help. Make sure you have controllable selected on the connection screen.

Hi Alex, thanks as always for your prompt replies. I’m attaching a screenshot of my TD setup. I did a quick check and noticed that the Zwift app was still running in the background, even though I wasn’t using it. My wife is currently using the TD app with her own account, and I hadn’t realized that Zwift was still active. This could be the cause of the issue. I’ll run a test today to see if everything is working properly. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Ok, and interesting separate power source with Ant+ also. Let me know and we can try to do more testing like this.

Hi Alex, I wanted to get back to you after testing the setup I sent you. As it stands, everything seems to be working perfectly. Once I resolved the issues caused by a conflict with Zwift—which was staying connected in the background—the PC version of the TD app started running smoothly. In my experience, I always prefer using the ANT+ protocol whenever possible; unlike Bluetooth, I encounter fewer connection issues, and I find it easier to follow the workout on a PC or laptop screen than on a smartphone. Just the quirks of a boomer like me. Thanks, as always, for your suggestions and for always being there to help.
