Hello. Currently I use qdomyos as a bridge between my bike (echelon ex-5) and TrainerDay. QZ just launched a feature that allows it to run on the same device as zwift and fulgaz using “a sockets connection” rather than, say, a bluetooth connection. Is there a chance this is something you might be able to implement for TrainerDay as well? It would be cool to use just one device (currently I use an iPhone – running qzdomyos – plus iPad – running TrainerDay).
Oh wow!!! That is cool I was using QZ with my spin bike but I hated using 2 devices. This is great. I could check with that guy (Robert?) I talked to him before. But how do you select where your sockets data is going? Do you enter a URL or would he need to add trainerday as a destination?
Hi Alex - you have officially exceeded my knowledge of all of this. I am not remotely qualified to speculate. Roberto Viola is the developer. He runs the facebook group as well: Redirecting....
I have him on email thread so I just asked him how it works.
Ok, you mentioned sockets. I thought this was sockets or let’s say the underlying infrastructure might be sockets but now Robert explained to me how this works. Seems this is great as we can support Wahoo devices with direct connection as well if we do this so it benefits more than just the QZ users. I am not sure how soon we can get to this but seems like a great solution, thanks for mentioning it.
Hey that’s great! I’m glad to hear it’s something that has a broader impact across the range of devices.
