Tacx Flux S ERG mode not working correctly

Was using the app yesterday and ERG mode was working fine. Suddenly mid workout the ERG mode stops working. I am not connected to any other applications with the trainer , have tried restarting both the trainer and the app with no success. Trainer firmware up to date etc. Very annoying.

We have a flux s we use in testing and have never seen this issue (or not recently anyway) but for sure we still do have some connection issues at times with some devices. Phone restart should fix it. We are continually working to improve how connections work. Sorry about that. Hopefully it does not happen again. As I said it does not happen to our Flux S… I am going to ask my tester right now to make 100% sure I am telling the truth

My tester asked if you used the latest version of our app that came out yesterday and if you happened to switch between slope and ERG mode. If you had the previous version (not the new one from yesterday afternoon/evening depending on where you were in the world) he said it was possible as we had a new bug recently. This should be fixed if you update today and hopefully you will never see this again. If you do, phone restart to save some frustration and please let me know if it is fixed or you see this again.

Oh wow sorry, now I realize I was completely confused. I thought you meant it disconnected, you mean ERG stopped workout, yes yesterday’s build should have fixed that. Probably available after you finished your workout.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me. You were the right first time, my ERG stopped working during the workout. So i finished the workout by increasing the gears to achieve the required watts, rather than the resistance automatically increasing.

I just checked the app store and there was an update available. I am going to try again after work and see if that has fixed it. Will let you know

Si

Updated the app yesterday and another update today. Still did not work. Tried my machine on Zwift and worked fine so it’s not the trainer.

Ok as we discussed in email we will figure this out since it works 99% perfect in our Flux S (currently 100% but it takes a long time for us to reproduce this issue). It’s really strange how different instances of the same device work differently.

Did you get this fixed? Another user said uninstall + install fixed it for him. I specifically mentioned he should uninstall, restart phone and reinstall. Not sure if he did that but it might be safer.

insufficient and inconsistent power supply problem I use the Tacx Flux trainer and I noticed that the trainer tends to disconnect or even generate less power than the workout created previously, it seems weakened by 40%, I use a racing bike and even when changing gears the problem remains, for example I have to do 5 minutes at 300 watts it starts by providing a resistance equal to 300 watts but then changes and goes to 220 watts, only by closing the application and reconnecting the roller then it starts working again, and it happens several times during 1 activity, how to solve it? I use Android and Samsung smartphones

Hi David, there is 2 other users with Tacx Flux S that are having this issue as well. It’s very strange because we own one and it works perfectly. Not sure if yours is S. The basic point seems to be that ERG is just not controlling it correctly. I am waiting for this other persons answer. If uninstall, restart phone and reinstall fixes it. This is a top priority so I assume it will be fixed right away. The other user said he would work with my developer if necessary.

Here is the other person reporting something similar with similar trainer.
