We now allow you to set which services each of your devices provide.
See below our previous solution worked for most people but this one allows more options. For example some people don’t want cadence from the power meter, or their power meter shows as a smart trainer in our app. Now you can set which is controllable and which provides power for example. For most people this does not affect anything but we have had a lot of requests for different needs which this accomplishes.
My advice would be to have the metric at the top. Then select the device that anounces the metric.
This avoids that users select more then one device for the same metric and it makes them aware of the different choices. Which makes them think about what device would be best to use.
It should all be automatic and they don’t need to select them and also you can’t select more than one service. If you do it changes it to the new device. I know Zwift does it that way but that would have been a totally different UI and this seemed more staying with the nature of how it works now… I don’t know if zwift runs on a phone, but the way their UI is it takes a lot of room on PC…
If people get too confused, we might have to… Sometimes my good ideas are not so good.
This was an interesting update - I had a ride the other day where ERG mode wasn’t going over 50 watts. Ended up rebooting the kickr core thinking it was a bluetooth issue, but found it was this feature, where for some reason most of the features were deselected. Now know to double check to see if the required features are enabled on the kickr!
Oh no sorry to waste your time. We tried to make it all automatically select the right services but that did not work in many cases we are continuing to improve this.
