Try our desktop :) - NEW Progress / Metrics Tab

We are working hard to make the desktop an amazing experience. We will have as much alignment as possible between web and desktop.

FYI - Most changes will come to mobile as well, we are focused on the desktop at the moment. The mobile is much more popular, it may stay this way, we will see.

Desktop development is more predictable so it’s easier to add more features with less risk. It also does not have the app store delays and 15% fee for subscribing.

We have added what I would call “Core Metics.”

FYI - We have no plans to go deep into metrics like IntervalsICU, just the core basics we feel are important.

Once the metrics are well validated across a wider group of users we will bring them to the web and have a mobile version. We have done lots of data validation but stuff like FTP history and Threshold HR play a big role.

On classic CTL / TSB chart we treated other sports or data without hr/power streams a bit different. We are working on adding running pace thresholds so that is coming soon. Our activities page now shows all activities from strava and if you re-connect and give permissions all from garmin.

We also have our own scoring called FitScore. Which is a scoring system better aligned to health and fitness focused users. It also better supports periodization not as a loss in fitness. It puts a lot of emphasis on rounded training including strength.

You can read more here about all of it.

When can we expect the possibility to try it out? The app is available for download from the Play Store, but there is no option to log in or connect it with, for example, Garmin.

Hi  This is only in desktop for now. I will consider mobile too.

The kJ calc appears to be wrong.

What framework(s) are you using for Trainerday Alex.

I have been learning Vue after learning more advanced java script and various programming languages. Should have been my career but sadly didn’t have that option in a school in Shropshire (UK) with one computer, Ludlow college wasn’t much better.

We use a lot of vue on the website, and I love vue. Our desktop app is react. I love how you think and communicate, so if you want an internship role… we can mentor you and potentially help you become a programmer. I would love a true cyclist programmer on the team.

I only downloaded the desktop app yesterday, or was it this morning, it has been a long day already  Looks good I’ll have a play with it. (So far I use the mobile app on a S20 and S24 and the website, I use the web player as well.)

I wondered if you used React and I had seen that the website used some Vue (or seemed to, so I thought I would ask.)

I have created a couple of little SPAs for running :man_running: as I thought it would be a good way to learn vue… having little problems to solve, how can I do ‘x’?

I can’t get my head around how you debug and get something like TD working so well. All those different devices running the software and different hardware you connect to.

Keep up the good, work.

I am currently training for an Ironman in October, and coming back to TD has got me motivated for the bike again (I had lost the love for the bike a bit, putting on running shoes on was so much easier, so my training was moving more to the run and swim in summer.)

Trusting the platform is just going to work at 5:30am before work, and I can quickly modify a workout in seconds as needed has removed a bit of mental load that I wasnt enjoying with other platforms. I just need to get strong on the bike again now.

Ok cool. We have a new guy at TD… long story any way he is ex-pro ice skater and golfer but also an Ironman finisher and cycling/running/tri-coach. Super cool guy. He is likely to be some kind of partner in the business, we have not figured it all out yet. He is also a race director… busy guy… but he and I just completely hit it off…. I am sure we will hear more from him here in the future. He was a very early TrainerDay user.

Yes react in the desktop, react native on mobile and vue on the web, I like vue way, way better… Once you win your Ironman, I can inspire you
