Wahoo Kicker Climb using TrainerDay

Any plans to support the wahoo kicker climb?

I read that the Kickr Climb is controlled by the Wahoo trainer itself. So if the trainer is simulating a slope/grade shouldn’t that raise the Kickr?

I agree with s_l here so the climb won’t work in erg mode but we have something called automatic slope mode that you can design your own slope based workouts that will contr the climb. You can search the forums here or let me know if you want more information.

Is that the sim/slope mode in settings that enable that function?

From DC Rainmaker Wahoo KICKR CLIMB In-Depth Review

And as for 3rd party trainers, that’s also a non-starter. See, Wahoo’s pairing process is only to their trainers. So the KICKR CLIMB pairs specifically to the trainer itself, rather than an app. That allows it to work out of the box with any app, as the app doesn’t even ‘know’ about the CLIMB. Instead, the app talks to the KICKR like it always has for years, sending it grade commands (i.e. 5% incline, or –2% decline). The KICKR/SNAP trainer simulates that grade and then wirelessly passes along that command to the CLIMB at the same time.

No it’s a little more involved than that. You do need to switch that on but you need to create specific workouts in our workout editor. Sim / slope mode is very different than ERG it’s the way Zwift works with shifting gears and controlling your own power based on gear and rpm. I will send more info shortly.

Here is an example, if you create a workout like this in our editor, the FTP% is only a visual reference for the target you are trying to hit but your trainer and your climb will change slopes. Also make sure you have slope mode turned on in our settings. Let me know if this is not clear.
