What can I do on the Free tier (not seeing the 20-free workouts)

Hi, I want to test out the app and see how I like it but I can’t seem to do any training rides on the free plan. I created a workout and it says I need to pay to view it. I searched and opened a workout and it doesn’t seem to let me start it. Can I do a ride without buying a plan?

Yes, the app has 20 workouts included that you can try it out with. If you buy from our website you can also get a refund if you are not happy.

I should also say with those 20 included workouts between up/down in intensity, auto extend workouts, merging workouts, skip forward and slope mode their are an infinite number of workouts that can be completed.

You also can create workouts and plans that can be used on other platforms for free.

Hi Alex, I can’t seem to find the 20 free workouts in the app anymore. I’m at this screen

but I can’t find a ‘Library’ on the website, only lists, which I can’t show in the app as I am not a paid subscriber. Thanks in advance

This is very strange. I login as free user and I see the 20 workouts. I cant duplicate this. I would first pull down on the page to refresh, if that does not work, logout and login or reinstall our app. This requires the internet the first time. We will keep investigating.

Hi, My partner and I use the app in the free use, 20 free rides where we just use 2-3 of the choices. unfortunately the 20 rides do not appear with the latest update.
Note I had to update the old ipad iuse
I also get the refresh thing with no ability to refresh, the app seems to be broken.

The rides do appear if you search for rides, but they are in random locations way down the list of non-ride options

note we can’t afford your plans hence the free use tier is all we use, I used to use wahoo free, but they force free loaders to pay.

However, I have pointed numerous users to trainer day free to try out the app then some went on to payment plans. So there you go, some free loaders are useful

Very sorry everyone, we will figure this out and fix it.

Yes, we want as many freeloaders as we can get  and we actually keep adding stuff to the free user experience… So we consider you and your partner valuable members even if you can’t afford it or even if it’s just that you get enough value from the free version. We want you too!!! I love the free version and free users… obviously paid is nice too

We create a fix that I am 95% sure will resolve your issue, a defensive mechanism to make sure this free list is not empty but we tried everything and cant reproduce this error and even reviewed some of your accounts so we can’t verify the fix but again I am sure early next week the new version fixing this will be available in the app stores.

Secondly my guess is if you uninstall our app and reinstall it, it will resolve your issue.

Thanks Alex. I have logged out and back in this morning and I can now see the 20 free workouts - yay - you have made my day. Thank you

Ok apple has already release the update, that was fast… Google will still be monday or tuesday most likely.

The rides now appear, thanks.

It isn’t quite clear, or it appears that to create a FAV list from free rides, ride that I create can’t be listed because the 20 free rides already populate the list?
It is just that whilst I was trying to get the free rides working I used the online config and found every time I tried to do something I encountered the paywall. There is no warning prior on the page.

Would it not be better to have a free app user interface and a separate tab(s) for the tiers, still viewable to see what one could get, but not configurable for the user, the user ID is the link.

Final note, it would be nice to get to the settings and configurations without having to enter the ride. My partner has a habit of not closing the app, leaving the ride when finished. This typically crashed the link to devices, wahoo, and heart rate monitor. So when the partner went to ride again i had to shut it down properly, restart, find the devices by entering a ride, finish the ride, close the app, restart the app , start the ride. By this time the partner gives up and is wiggling to an online workout :walking_woman: :man_facepalming:

I never get detailed feedback like this from free users, this is great thanks.

1 Favorites - part of the problem is you saw that message about lists that was related to the bug of not showing the 20 workouts. List management is a paid feature at this time but it’s an interesting idea to allow this for free users. I never thought about just having your favorites from the free list.

2 We don’t really have room for more tabs and spending money to design a separate experience for free users is a bit too much for a small low cost solution like ours. If we were bigger making fully optimized free user experience would be nice, we focus on minimizing costs complexity as much as we can.

3 You can get to settings on all tabs except the workouts tab

4 Reconnect problem - we will test this. Its an interesting case and I have ideas on how to fix this.

Also had this problem, seems to work now! I used to logout/login to see the workouts again.

One other thing that used to work and was helpful for me, but doesn’t work anymore - I’d go into Activities to click “Ride Now” on one of the few free workouts I kept repeating. This was sort of my favorites list. But now the button is disabled also for free workouts, so it’s a bit harder to start.

Yes, what we realized is if a person upgraded they could do it for a month and then ride all those other workouts forever without paying, so we wanted to close that loop hole that you had to do the 20 included workouts for free. I will keep thinking about this though. I understand what you want.
