Workout editor beig weird

Hey Alex..

Noticed there have been soe changes to the workout creator..

Its doing some weird things.

If I enter 5mins for example for the time and hit enter it enters a random value in the power column.
Also if I copy a bunch of rows and paste. It changes all the power values to random numbers.
And the box that appears when you highlight multiple cells obscurs the view of where youre trying to paste the cells.

And the main box sits over the top of the description box on the right hand side.

Needs a few tweaks

PS Im on Mac OS X 12.7.6 running Firefox 149.0.2.

Might be browser specific as Helen had no problems on windows.

James

You have some cached version. it should not look like this. See below. You need to CMD+SHIFT+R.

We will test firefox but I see you are on watts and by default when you hit enter after time it puts 50% in which is 136w, if you want to see % switch to FTP%, like my example above.

Hey Alex

Ok I’ll try tha.t.

I always work in watts as that’s what my coach sets.

Copy and paste still throws some interesting figures up.

managed to get the session planned in though.

Watts is fine, you just said weird number, I was saying it might be 50% of FTP. In our mobile app you could try copy paste what your coach gives to our AI workout creator to see if it works, I plan to add it to the web as well.

Hey Alex.. I might be being a bit dumb but I cant see an AI builder on the ios app?

Make sure the app is up to date. Tell me if you don’t see below

We are still making small improvements to stuff like copy paste. We improved undo a lot yesterday.

Let me know if this ai builder works for you. I want to add this to the web too, but your example is perfect, coach gives you written description and we can convert it to a workout with paste / click. If you run into problems and want to email me your coaches workouts and I will fine tune our AI to work with them, assuming they are reasonable format  This is interesting to me. support@trainerday.com

Hey Alex…

I tried it quickly and didn’t seem to work properly but I think some of the instruction was ambiguous.

I’ll fire through some examples of the sessions he sends me and see how you get on.

If I could copy and paste these to create sessions that would be so good.

Will come back to you later this evening (uk time) :+1:

Hey Alex..

This is one of my recovery sessions this week..

It didnt get the 20seconds full gas comment. Not sure how it would translate that to be honest.

  • start with 15 min gradual warm up, keeping steady wattage at between 140 and 165 watts.

  • 1 min @ 190 watts @ 95 rpm

  • 1 min @ 190 watts @ 100 rpm

  • 1 min @ 190 watts @ 105 rpm (last 20 seconds put in full gas effort. )

  • 2 mins easy pedaling to Lower heart rate, keep wattage between 140 and 160 watts

Complete 5 sets of the above

  • Finish with 5 min gradual cool down, keeping steady wattage at between 140 and 155 watts.

Another session it might work a bit better with:

  • start with 10 mins progressive warm up

  • 8 mins @225-240 watts @ 80-85 rpm
For the first 20 seconds of each minute you will need to drop gear so that rpm range is still 80-85 rpm but the power will increase to over 300 watts, this will quickly flood legs with the start process of lactate but then your body will learn to cope with this by product and use as actual fuel for the remaining time (effectively these 8 min blocks are equivalent of 20 mins out on the road)

  • 3 mins easy recovery
    (Complete this block 3 times)

  • 5 mins @235+ watts @ 90rpm

  • 3 mins easy recovery

I guess it might not get them dialled unless there are specific power targets..

Also just a note. When Im creating a session and copy a block and paste it.

I think its trying to convert the number in the watts column to %FTP as it takes 240 watts for example and pastes it as 600 or something super high.
That definitley didnt happen before the new version.

Its not the end of the world as I just go through and manually correct them.

Anyway.. if you want me to try anything on the ai side let me know!

I do flip between ERG and slope in a session when there is structure followed by a max effort for example so not sure ai would recognise this.. or maybe it needs some lessons  Love the concept though!!

Ai is a rediculous tool. I built an entirely new nutrition plan using co-pilot. Even created me an isle by isle shopping list for the local supermarket.. bonkers.

Good luck!

James

Cool, full gas means 100% of what you can do for 20 seconds so as you stated that means switch to slope mode for 20-30 seconds… Yes AI is crazy for sure. The problem is it is over confident and wrong so you need to double check…

Let me play with these. This is fun.

If you need any more examples let me know.

James
