This is for Mobile Android on the most recent big app update.
When I’m doing my workout on the Vasa SwimErg (not sure if relevant what device i’m using) on my Samsung Galaxy S24, every couple of minutes I get pulled out of my workout screen into the “Today” screen. I will see a brief “Refreshing” popup. I will press the glowing green “Continue” button to go back to my workout, but I will continue to get interrupted. Sometimes it happens several times in rapid succession: I will go back to my workout screen and then “Refreshing” will pop up again immediately and I will get pulled back into the “Today” screen. This might happen several times in rapid succession.
My workout gets paused. It says that the device is connected (the button shows 2 devices connected, same as pre-interruption), but it stops receiving information from the SwimErg, so I have to re-connect. I never had this issue with the previous app version before the big update.
This doesn’t happen on my other set up where I’m using an Android Tablet and a Wahoo Kickr. I haven’t gone through many lengths to find out what set up combinations cause this issue and I’m not sure how to reliably reproduce this except just turning on my workout on my phone/SwimErg set up.
That is really strange. Can you send me a link to that completed activity from our website? Also for your Vasa, you might want to turn off Auto Pause in our settings.
I’ve uploaded a screen recording. It takes me awhile to notice usually when it interrupts me. This has been happening for my last 3 sessions I believe but I’ll just link the one that corresponds to this recording: Trainer Day
Thanks for sharing. I have a guess as to what this is in that Bluetooth devices get errors at times, or they transmit errors, and maybe we weren’t handling it very well. We added a little bit more error handling to try to prevent this. So the build that’s coming out hopefully today might have a fix. I’m going to see if I can find this in our error log. The second part is when your device disconnects, it should automatically reconnect. We change that behavior and it looks like we need to improve it. So then it would, even if it did redirect to the today’s screen, it would still be recording. Both of these should be fixed soon. It’s just a little bit of guesswork.
We tried to do some fixes that might fix your error here. Let me know if this keeps happening. Since we can’t reproduce it, it’s hard to say at this point.
I did have a successful session on March 25th but every attempt since then has been a failure. I got about 7 minutes into a session before giving up. I had another session go only a minute before giving up. This last recording from a few days ago shows me giving up before even starting the workout:
Maybe I’ll do a couple of wahoo kickr sessions with the phone and then attempt a vasa swimerg session with my tablet so we can conclude that it’s the vasa connection that’s disrupting my workouts.
