I am repeating this from the past. But Aldo Sassi was considered one of the best cycling coaches of all time. Also Italian like Dr Ferrari but close to a polar opposite in core coaching style. Integrity and health being at the top of what he cared about.
You can google him but here is an interview in his final time before he died of cancer
So Coach Andrea was Aldo’s protege, and also his scientist. Just not the flashy frontman or in the limelight. I should try to get Andrea to create a blog
Andrea and I talk daily and he is in continual research and learning regarding cycling performance.
Overall I would say Andrea’s view has been impacted by all the people here a lot via my questioning his views regarding “average cyclists.” A bit more aligned with my messaging of matching the plan to the persons expectations being an important aspect. When you are a coach, you are used to just saying do it my way, and when you are high level cyclists just do it for the most part or else they would not be your student. But when you don’t have 1:1 coaching it’s a bit harder and less effective to say do it my way.
