Compensate indoor with outdoor activity and mark it

Hi I noticed that one can mark as “done/completed” a planned indoor activity. That “marked” session effort/time though is not calculated in the weekly time/effort.

Is there a way to do it, and is it TD let “miscalculating” the real progress?

Example: for week X plan states Monday 45min/37effort, Wed 45min/41effort, Friday 30min/28effort. Planned week is 120min duration and 106effort. I do Monday and Wed session with TD using my indoor trainer and HR monitor, but on Fri I get out and I do a freetime activity that in my view compensate the skipped session, say a 90min walk.

What is being tracked by TD though is that in week X I only did a total of 90min/78effort, even if I mark as “done/completed” the Friday session.

My concern is that future calculations/stats that take into account “my progresses” are wrongly determined, because the input value are not fully correct.

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts!

We are not doing anything with these “completed” values this is more just as a personal record. We might in the future but so far looking how other people are doing this I don’t like any of the current solutions. What we do, do is have fitscore on the progress tab. This takes all completed activities including a walk if it is in Garmin or Strava. We had a fitscore app that worked with apple health and google health as well as had adding completed manual activities that would all contribute to your fitscore.

I would say I don’t fully understand what you are asking for. I think the health benefits of variety of “sports” are great so all for promoting that. I am just not sure there is any current value other than fitscore for walks in TrainerDay.

Hi Alex thanks for your thoughts. May be I’ve a semplicistic approach, what I was thinking is that if one manually marks the session completed, TD should count the planned time and effort. Sort of “manual override”. A practical example: the other day I had a “recovery session” with say a session of 30min in Z1, low effort. Instead I went out for one hour for a stroll with my bike. I’m confident I did something equivalent, and I would have liked to have a way to say that to TD. On the other end, I do not know if the time and effort spent in sessions is computed somehow in the next workout. If it is the case that only FTP is the input to TD (coach jack and/or AI) that is also OK, I then would assume that time/effort reported for each given week is more “informational” only.

Cheers!

…. and to make myself more clear, I believed that when I do a plan in coach jack or AI, as input it is considered few paramaters like my (stated) FTP, age, weight, and my recent elapsed/effort history…
