The free version will work perfect for you. Ask any questions you want here.
Thanks Alex. Originally the Saris was my wifeās. Unbeknown to us, the trainer had leaked out most of the oil so she was riding top cog with so much roller pressure that she wore out her mountain bike tire. After my stroke, when I initially tried it on my classic ā85 Bianchi road bike with sew-ups, I was concerned about wearing out the tire so I used less force on the tire. I realized that something was not right. My road bike has a CatEye with cadence sensor but the speed sensor is on the front wheel so didnāt work. After finding out the oil was missing and adding oil, the road bike was too hard to pedal even in the granny gear so I switched to my mountain bike with wider gearing which has no computer/sensors. I was hoping the Saris sensor would work with this app. If so, I might get a second one set up as a speed sensor.
I hope to eventually get strong enough to push the gears on my Bianchi.
I can confirm that the Saris cadence sensor works in the app. Iām thinking if I add s speed sensor to the back wheel that I will see more features than just speed.
Yes if we/you can set the power curve of your trainer you will significantly more information from virtual power.
I have yet to understand how the app interprets the speed and cadence data. The Saris Fluid2 has a fixed* resistance and the choice of what gear I set determines how much resistance I experience. (*resistance can be increased by applying more force against the tire but that just wears out the tire) I choose what gear I push by how high I can maintain the cadence but the app does not know if I am lazy or weak.
I have yet to find a glossary of terms and acronyms used.
On the connections tab you will see virtual power, see if you see your Fluid 2 on the list of curves but you must have speed sensor connected and working. That will convert speed to approximate power. The only thing that really matter are FTP, Power and Target. But first you need to make sure it is working.
Recovering from stroke started with learning to talk and walk again, not sing and dance. I am overwhelmed with the interface trying to find one of the 20 included programs to fit my need. The first time I ran the app, there was a 20 minute āwarmupā program but I canāt find it again. It is offering me an automatic TD Ramp Test. I cannot find a list of the included 20 programs.
If you go to the āWorkoutsā Tab - bottom, 2nd from left and than hit the bar on top of the screen you got something like a search bar where you can choose the list: ā20-Free App Workouts & FTP Testā.
Just hitting quick start at the bottom will give you this warmup also. Just have to be patient, this is indoor structured cycling is a lot of new information. Everyone has this problem, but I understand in your case it might just take a bit more time.
As far as I can tell, no search results will show the 20 included programs and no search results can be used in the āfreeā version. The only way to access the 20 included programs is to hit refresh which gives random results.
QUICK START does not allow me to set the countdown timer to 20 minutes.
Iām not seeing what you mean in your screenshot.
When you click on the second tab, the workouts tab, you should see this red banner. If you see two buttons on the top right, click the little list icon and you should only see one search icon like we see now above. Then any of the workouts below here say āRide Nowā. If you donāt see any of this, it would be ideal if you could send a screenshot.
Perfect. So if you scroll down, you can see that thereās other workouts below this.
None of them offer the flat 20 minute warmup shown in my first screenshot.![]()
I see the next one below this one. The next lower one says recovery. Just push the middle of the screen up with your finger.
I know how to scroll but none on the list is a flat 20 minute workout. The only flat workout is 60 minutes called Free Ride.
