Hello,
My planned training has a stress factor of 50.
If I do this training in ERG mode on the roller, it only results in a stress factor of 42.
What is the cause?
So there are a few different reasons this is possible but generally actual power is never 100% the same as target power but 42 is a pretty big difference.
The question is who is reporting 42?
See below I just tried the workout you did and it is 49 in IntervalsICU and TrainingPeaks
Also see TP
This is what it looks like for me at intervals.icu!
Is the FTP not configured correctly?
I saw you were using zwift. It would appear that zwift FTP and intervals FTP might be different. This really has nothing to do with TrainerDay specifically in this case, meaning our planned is 50 and that is 49/49 in interval and TP so our part is correct. When you execute it is not 50 for some reason. Power is very rough and target is perfect lines. Rough power (jaged power lines) can be different than perfect lines, the thing is, it’s usually more likely to be more not less. Because it is based on normalized power not average power and normalized is a bit higher than average.
Do you have Intervals set to use power as first option for Training Load calculation?
If it uses HR, the numbers will differ.
I set it to power HV and tempo.
Ok! Thanks! I’ll try Whoosh next time.
So your FTP is approximately 291W? That´s what the Intervals numbers lead to.
Or is it 270W, which would be what leads to a 49 TSS workout?
