Wahoo Kickr Core Resistance

Hello. I can’t get the app to automatically control resistance. When I pedal, I get to a point where I spin out and have to stop pedaling. Then the app thinks I’ve abandoned the workout. How do I fix that?

It for sure will/should control it correctly. Make sure you are in a middle gear and nothing else is connected to it (turn of Garmin or Wahoo computers) make sure no other app or anything is connected. If none of that works just uninstall and reinstall our app. Send a screenshot here can help.

Thank you. Do I need to disconnect my Apple Watch too?

It should not affect anything (I can’t image any way it could) but it’s always best to eliminate everything you can if you can’t find the source of the problem.

I’ve also fixed this issue by pausing and resuming a workout. Seems the app re-sends the target wattage.

I do have an issue with my kickr v5 where it doesn’t set wattage, only resistance, for the first 4-6 minutes of my workout. It does that regardless of whether I use trainer day, any Garmin device (with Ant+) or Wahoo’s app. Just mentioning it as it could be a Kickr issue too.

Whenever I have this problem, it’s always because some other app is controlling the device.

If you are new to the Kickr Core, perhaps the Wahoo app is controlling the device. This can happen if you’ve upgraded firmware and followed their installation instructions.

You usually have to kill the offending app (e.g. swipe up on an iPhone) to get back control for TrainerDay.

Yeah I have no issues with my V5… but I agree @dmjones 's suggestion sounds like the cause unless you have a specific problem with your hardware. You are right about pause/restart re-sending target, you can also click slope/erg or up/down buttons at the bottom.
